Welspun World has strengthened its contribution to India’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision with the virtual inauguration of a new terry towel manufacturing facility of Welspun Home Solutions Limited in Gujarat. The facility was inaugurated on December 16, 2025, by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel.

With this commissioning, Welspun’s Anjar plant becomes the world’s largest terry towel manufacturing facility under a single roof, further reinforcing Gujarat’s position as a global manufacturing hub and Welspun’s leadership in the home textiles sector. The new plant is expected to generate over 3,000 direct and more than 10,000 indirect employment opportunities, taking the total workforce at Anjar to nearly 30,000.

The project was completed in a record time of 12 months, with the foundation stone having been laid by the Chief Minister in December last year. The swift execution highlights both Gujarat’s strong industrial ecosystem and Welspun’s operational capabilities.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel emphasised the role of Indian companies like Welspun in building a self-reliant India, noting the group’s long-standing presence in Gujarat since 2004 and its alignment with national initiatives such as Make in India and Local to Global.

Commenting on the milestone, Ms. Dipali Goenka, Managing Director and CEO of Welspun Living, said the company’s approach is rooted in adaptability, strong systems, and purpose-led execution, enabling it to turn challenges into long-term progress.
