The Retailers Association of India (RAI) recently organised two learning initiatives for the retail industry, bringing together practitioners and legal experts on compliance and regulatory matters.
On 17 February 2026, RAI hosted a Masterclass on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and Allied Laws at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Around 40 delegates from across the retail sector participated in the session, which was led by Prateek Bansal, Partner and Head of Tax, Trade and Regulatory practice at White & Brief Advocates & Solicitors LLP, along with his team. The Masterclass covered compliance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and the broader legal landscape under the DPDP Act. The session was structured as an interactive forum, encouraging open discussion and practical knowledge exchange, and was well received by participants.
On 29 January 2026, RAI organised a focused workshop under its Certificate Programme in Laws Relating to Retail in India at Abad Plaza, Cochin. Around 25 delegates attended the session, which featured an expert presentation by Adv. Gopal Naik, Senior Partner, Vision Law.
Both programmes reflect RAI’s continued commitment to equipping its members with the legal knowledge and compliance readiness required to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
