Indian customers still prefer going to physical stores to purchase smartphones, a study by CyberMedia research has revealed.

The main reason for this, according to the report, is that customers like to touch their phone before making an informed purchase.

However, there are other reasons besides the report that have prompted people to purchase offline over online. According to some buyers, who tried exchanging their phones on an e-commerce portal, the exchange for the old phone was 7 times lower than the price they got from a physical store.

Goyal also mentioned that Apple has recently launched some of its latest models from India, which are manufactured in India. It is not specified when Apple aims to reach this target and the company has not yet commented on the statement.

Apple has been assembling iPhones in India since 2017 through its partners Wistron and Foxconn, as a part of the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative.
